Attention Deficit Disorder & Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADD/ADHD)

Drugs are not the answer!

ADD/ADHD can be due to a variety of causes. It can be diet based, brain based, and/or psychological in origin. At times ADD/ADHD symptoms may be the child's way of letting parents and teachers know that there are issues with family, teachers and/or friends that the child doesn't know how to deal with. In such circumstances a series of sessions with our Child Psychologist, Ms Beatriz Pon can be useful. She can be contacted via the Centre and would be happy to discuss her approaches with you.

But often there is a cause for ADD/ADHD beyond just psychological issues. Both adults and children can suffer with ADD/ADHD. There is a considerable body of evidence indicating that decreased function in certain areas of the brain can produce these conditions.(1) A region of the brain called the cerebellum is most commonly found to be the area that is not working well. At the Diamond Valley Brain Centre we can assess the cerebellum and the rest of the brain to see how well it is working and provide practical, low-risk, natural solutions to ADD/ADHD.

You or your child will be thoroughly assessed and a detailed programme of treatment will be put together that takes into account the individual needs of you or your child. It may include exercises, diet advice, supplements, physical therapies and/or cognitive exercises.

We know how frustrating and tiring it can be to raise a child with ADD or ADHD, and we have seen the battle adults have with this condition. But don't just turn to drugs. These drugs can have long term, often dangerous side effects. Try a natural approach.
